Why no Fall Y'all

There are some amazing and beautiful fall and Halloween projects out there in blogland right now.

I mean just look at this beautiful and simple mantel that the nester made.

And this candelabra that Sandra at sawdust and paperscraps made...

Aren't they just beautiful!

I love fall, it is my favorite season of the year. I love fall colors, fall decor, fall clothes, heck even fall food.

I was really planning on getting all decored out for fall this year.

But I have a problem...

It is like a big cloud of doom that is looming over me.

It is called winter.

But what does that have to do with fall? you may ask.

Well you see the problem is that this is my garage right now.

And that is my van out in the driveway that I would love to park in the garage.

I am really working on getting these furniture pieces painted and sold before my driveway looks like this again.

To all the readers that live more south then me. Mr. Genius is using a snowblower in the picture.

And contrary to my belief, it does not in any way resemble a leaf blower...and it is about double the cost.

So that is why the only fall decor in my house is this...

Next year I hope to be more on top of things and be able to actually do some fall decor around here.

Do you forgive me? :)

  1. Oh Katie, I hear you on the garage situation. My garage looks like a hurricane wandered in and hubby is tired of parking in the driveway.

Thanks for the mention on my candelabra. You always make me smile.

  2. Hi, Katie. I forgive you, if you will forgive me. I don't have ONE thing displayed, so you are better than me with your lantern! :) And I don't even have any excuse of furniture to restore!!
    Best regards,
    Gloria
P.S. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. Nope. I don't. You have no excuse. ;)

Oh-and you totally bailed on me...I so thought Christmas was your favorite season...I thought we were kindred spirits. Humph. My morning is in shambles...I'll have to go turn on some Christmas music to return to my chipper self.

    Much love,
    Kandra

  5. I live in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. I win in the too much snow, agonizing winter department. I don't feel any joy at winning, though.
And I'm trying to figure out how I can start spray painting when it's already freezing at night.
