Lighted Nativity Scene

Yep, I am one of THOSE people.

And by one of THOSE people...I mean this.

Actually this isn't a very accurate picture of what our house looks like now. We are pretty much done with the Christmas Decor.

I know, I know... that Thanksgiving gets the shaft.

I look at it like this. It is so much work to get the Christmas stuff out. Why only enjoy for a month?

Trust me I would have gotten all this stuff out on Nov. 1st if I wasn't so busy. So I thought I was doing good by waiting til almost the middle of the month.

The good part is that the boys LOVE it and they actually sat together for about 10 minutes with out karate chopping each other!!

It's a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE PEOPLE!!!

Remember all the silhouette products I used without actually having a silhouette?

Like here, here, and here.

I have been saving my pennies for a long time and bought one. I finally had enough money to buy it in the middle of the week I was doing the silhouette products without a silhouette. Which kind of made me sad...but that is just life isn't it?

Yes, people. I am now the proud owner of a silhouette machine.

The first thing I did was put our street numbers on my front door.

Sorry can't show you that, cuz I have the most unusual street numbers known to man and then you all might show up at my door...which means I would actually have to dust and vacuum. And I hate dusting and vacuuming almost as much as I hate to iron.

Since I can't show you my front door and I will show you my lamp shade.

Here is my side table...that needs to be painted so bad...I really should find someone to do that ;)

Doesn't look like much right now.

But then you turn the light on and...

Isn't it just a fun little surprise?

I just love that camel.

Seriously the easiest project I have ever done. Also a great idea if you do not have alot of table space to put out a big nativity.

What do y'all think?

If you would like to purchase the Nativity Scene and make your own lighted Silhouette you can purchase them and the top right hand side on my blog.

  1. That's cool. I can't believe you already got your machine and have used it and I still haven't taken mine out of the box. Well, I'm still waiting for my box of supplies. That's my excuse. {And you know my other excuse but I can't post that here.} Yep! It's a go!

  2. Great idea! I don't have a lot of space myself for the Nativity....and since it was my Grandma's I'm always afraid the kids will run off with the shepherds or the baby Jesus!!

  5. um, this is GENIUS. Seriously, I love it. It is a fabulous idea -- especially for people like me who have little kids that love to play with decorations that are set out on the table! Thanks for this idea -- it is awesome!

  9. I love it. If I had a silhouette I'd copy you! I love having Christmas in the house, too, and put everything up the day after T'giving, although this year we're putting it up before so we can enjoy it on T'giving day.

  13. So clever! Although I don't decorate until after Christmas....it's great that you want it to last as long as possible. I find that the kids enjoy the decorations so much that making it last is all good.

  14. I so, so agree with you!!! I'm one of 'those' also. Heck, when people complain about Christmas stuff being out in the stores when Halloween isn't even here, well.....they don't realize that some of us want it DONE so we can sit and enjoy the season!!!

  16. A friend sent me a link to this post. What a nice way to work the Nativity into your room decor.

I will be posting it on my Keep Christ in Christmas blog (www.firstchristmasgiftwrap.com). I would love to know of other ideas for bringing the actual Nativity into decorating for Christmas.
