Project Uno for 20 10 is completed.

Whoo Hoo!

Here is what the cabinets looked like before.

We got our consultation from The Lettered Cottage.

Then after some illegal beadboard wallpaper, some new shelves, white paint, and some new hardware. We now have this...

I am really happy with the results, but am having trouble trying to arrange things on the shelves. I just can't seem to get it right.

I am trying to go the cheap route by using things around the house. Mainly because I having found a place like Old Time Pottery here.

This weekend we are about to start Project Numero Dos.

I got all the apothcary jars through out the house to put on the mantel, now I have to figure out what to put in them.

I got some of them from my bathroom. They were full of Q-tips and cotton balls. Which is sensible for the bathroom, not so much for the den. I could fill one up with hot wheel cars, then my boys will think it was cool.

Click here and look at the first fireplace. Run your curser over the picture and see the square pattern over the mantle, that is my plan over this fireplace.

We don't think it would be too hard.

I know, famous last words.

    I LOOOOOVE IT!

Here's tip about accessorizing the shelves: visit the Pottery Barn website and click on Media/Entertainment Units. Look at how they deck out their shelves and follow their lead!

  7. I normally like dark wood, but wow...I love the change. That white looks so good and I love that the top of the cabinet is left dark for the contrast. This looks super good.

  13. That was a stroke of genious to put shelves up between the 2 cabinets. It really finishes the area off. I'm loving the white too!

  15. cabinet redo came out great. I like that you left the counter part stained. I too have trouble accessorizing, but I usually look in my PB catalog just like Layla suggested.

  17. I cannot believe the difference some white paint made! Your shelves look so much more current. Love it! And I think you are doing a great job decorating your shelves. That part always gets me stuck too. But keep playing with the accessories and you will find a combo you will like. Thanks for linking up to my party!

  22. When you own a house the projects just keep coming. :) Looks great. I always like white. I have made the mistake of hurriedly buying things to fill the shelves and then finding things I like better later. It can be a lot of work finding accessories. I was doing that this week and not following my own advice. Sometimes I think my blog controls me because I'm thinking it has to look right because I'm posting tomorrow. :) Seriously. Do you do that too? :)
