Well I cleaned it up as much as I could and painted it.
I was that close to almost forgetting a picture.
You can see where I started priming it.
If I haven't mentioned it before I will mentioned it a million times.
Oh how I love spray paint.
I used heirloom white paint. I have heard of a lot of ladies here on blogland use it and loved it. I will have to agree it is a beautiful creamy white color.
Now before I show you
Remember our old bedroom.
And also before you look at my bedroom, picture a white upholstered headboard with brown, white, and steel blue pillows.
Picture it in your head.
You got it?
Ok now you can look.
I got this bed at.... you guessed it, Craigslist. It was my Christmas present.
It is a perfect place for my boys to play.
We also never know what we will find under there because of our little offsprings.
But back to the lovely Chandy or aka The Sun as Mr. Genius calls it.
I think it really helps to dress up our room and with 8 bulbs compaired to the two we had before...it REALLY brightens things up.
We do have one problem though.
It is too low.
When your two year old and reach up and play with the chrystals...it is too low.
That is a good rule to live by.
But alas, it will stay that way cuz it is Father's day and I am feeling generous. ;)
But atleast our room is looking a little less like a dorm room and more like a dorm room with a chandy. But we will get to that room one day.
I am posting to these parties.
Ummmm hello gorgeous!!! It is huge ! I love the paint color too. It really dresses up your room. Great job and so elegant. What brand of spraypaint makes heirloom white?

ReplyDeleteLove it! I have a brass chandy that is just begging for a makeover. How did you clean the crystals? Mine had some gross coating on them thanks to the previous owners' smoking. I tried Simple Green and that worked pretty well but it was a slow process.

My friend has a chadelier like the before picture. I told her to wait cleaning it before I take a picture (she doesn't have a camera). Then I want to spray paint it and sell it. Yours looks gorgeous in your new room. I'm sure your new home has something special in it. Have fun working on your new home and making new friends.
