Pop of color tables

First of all let me start off by saying that we have a contract on the house!!

 via

Phew!

And now do not have to have a perfectly clean house! Which makes for a much happier mom. ;)

I truly believe that either you can be a happy person or you can have a perfectly clean house. You can't have both.

Now comes the part where we have to figure out where we are going to call home.

Sometimes I am jealous of my kids and the fact that their biggest decisions are if they should use crayons or markers.

Being an adult is way over rated.

In part of the negotiation we are having to leave our washer and dryer. Which we are too upset out. The washer is not a favorite of ours.

So we are having to buy a new washer and dryer. The first question I have for all of you out there. Front loading or top loading?!!! I need your opinions please! Don't hold back. I have heard about mildew with the front loading ones. Have any of you experienced that?

Also, I hope to work on our house tour video this week.

But first I wanted to show you some side tables I just refinished.

I first got this idea from Eddie Ross.

I just loved the table. I love the white and then the pop of color on top. It is subtle.

I got these side tables.

And here is my Eddie Ross knockoff version.

Aren't they fun?!

Also we have come into the time in our lives where we decided to get rid of the changing table.

After all Romeo has been potty trained for 7 months and he has been too big to use this table for over a year.

Anyone in Chicagoland interested? I am selling it for $140. Baskets, changing pad, and cover included.

Have a good week everyone!

I love the blue and white combination together! Your restyle looks amazing, sometimes we just shouldn't do ordinary things with furniture we have to jazz it up a bit!

Those tables are beautiful! I really love the idea of a plain white table with a pop of color on top. Pinning this :)

we got a front loader about a year ago and now I wish we had our old top loader. the smell is awful! I have to leave the door open all the time, but it still doesn't fix it. I do like that it uses less water and the clothes come out not as wet, but still don't like the smell!

Ok, the front loading washer is not all it is cracked up to be. It is supposed to have less wear and tear on your clothes, but there are definite drawbacks. You have about 5 seconds after starting a load to change your mind. You know when you find a stray sock that needs to go in? You are pretty much out of luck! That sucker locks up and you just have to wait. And we have had issues with a smell...probably mold now that you mention it. I have to do a special cleaning, just not cool. I would stick with a top loader.

I love the tables. What is the name of the turquoise you used? I have a front loader machine. Load if you put it upstairs. I leave the door open & use Tide washer machine cleaner once a month. No smell & super clean clothes. I wish I would not have bought the bases to stack the machines on. I should have left them low & put a counter on top for folding clothes. I have the LG Tromm set.

Love the change in the tables, the choice of top color turned out perfect! I have had the front loading washer for almost 2 years now, and even though I live in South Florida (where the humidity is always causing mold and mildew problems) I've never had a smell with mine. With 3 teenagers in the house and friends over in the pool all the time, the large capacity for washing and drying all those beach towels is heaven sent also! God Bless!

They look fantastic, what a great idea. I like that you put Eddie's picture first to see what could be done with both new and old pieces. Thanks for sharing.

I say go with top loading. I switched back for many reasons. Plus my clothes just seem cleaner. And not stinky :)

I've always had a front load. Never had a problem with it smelling. I have a
Whirlpool Duet and my last one was a GE(I think. I've heard that some front loads get smelly, but I'm not sure why that happens. I would never go back to a top load as I wash my king bed cover at least once a month and would hat to have to go to a laundromat.
