We're Baaaack

On New Year's Day we packed up the van and headed back to Chicago.

And when I say packed up...I really mean cram every inch of space that we had in our minivan with the entire stores of Toys R Us, Old Navy, and Old Time Pottery (oh how I miss you Old Time Pottery).

Now mind you, Mr. Genius took out the back bench seat in the van and we had a carrier on top of the van too.

I know... it was crazy.

Then our DVD player died.

On a 10 hour drive.

Wrap your minds around that.

But because of a lot of prayer, the boys did GREAT!

It may also have to do with the fact that we told the boys that if they didn't behave, we would take away the toys Santa brought.

But I am just sayin'...

We made a stop at the Bowling Green mall.

We had two purposes for stopping there. One was for one last time to eat at Chick-fil-a and for the boys to run around.

Turned out there wasn't a play area at this mall.

Um, Bowling Green mall, if you are reading this, you really need to add one of those. It is helpful to the sanity of all mothers in Bowling Green and ones that are just passing through.

Again, I am just sayin'...

So since there wasn't a play area, we improvised.

I can not promise that innocent passerbyers weren't not cut off, run into, or pushed during this improvision. (Don't think that is a word, but you get the point)

Another reason there should be a play area.

When we left TN is was 28 degrees. Which is cold for TN.

When we arrive at our house in IL...it was 8.

Which is apparently is warm up for IL.

Lord have mercy, what did I get myself into.

On Saturday Wild Man was so excited to go out and play in the snow. We did atleast hold him off until after lunch when it warmed up to a whopping 4 degrees.

You can't tell due to mom's thinking that any bare skin exposed to tempuratures below 20 degrees will instantly turn into frost bite... but this is one happy boy.

He lasted about 30 minutes outside in the North Pole, and loved every minute of it.

Romeo didn't want anything to do with the snow.

But then Romeo's uncontrollable urge to do what ever big brother does came over his little body when he saw how much fun daddy and Wild Man were having outside.

He had to try it out.

This is Romeo before he stepped outside.

This is Romeo after taken 10 steps outside.

Gotta give him points for trying.
