It's folding time!

One more project for my laundry room is done!

First I made this curtain.

Then came my cabinets and blue chandelier.

Now comes my newest project.

We started with a counter top from Ikea with some skinny legs.

Then using the same technique as I did with the no sew curtains. I made a no sew table skirt!

Ta Da!

This was such an easy project.

All I needed was a staple gun, glue gun, and no sew iron on tape.

Now I have a lot of storage space to store some cute kids that I found wondering around.

I think I will keep him.

Right now it is a favorite spot for hide and seek, but eventually it will hold a lot of storage!

Look at all my space to sort and fold laundry!!!

But now what will I use my dining room table for?

Again, here is the before.

And the after.

To all my praying readers out there. I have a little prayer request.

Tomorrow me, my mom and the boys are driving 10 hours in the car to TN.

Yes, we are crazy. I have stocked up on lots of the dollar items from Target, got our snacks ready, movies ready, and our ear plugs ready. Unfortunately Benadryl doesn't work on Wild Man. I am not above  drugging my children to keep my sanity, but since it only makes him even more wilder. It isn't an option.

So we are really praying for an uneventful trip. You know where no one gets killed or I do not get horse from yelling at my boys to be quiet.

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend and a safe 4th of July!

I loved the treatment on the windows & it's just as cute on the table (plus the little cutie you're storing under the table is sweet!)- you've created such a fun laundry room!!

Of COURSE a laundry room has to have a chandelier.
Love that there is absolutely no sewing involved. The room looks fab!

I love that so much effort & time has gone into your laundry room. It is so cute. I wish you could come to TX and tell me what to do in my house. Mine needs a complete overhaul. You are such a good decorator and from the pics of your mom's house I can see you get it from her. I get my lack of decorating from my mom too! My house is just a mish moshed mess of stuff. And most of the time it's covered in toys, blankets, and books.

Oh so cute! I love that you tied the folding table in with the curtain. Really cute. I would think it would make laundry more fun. :) And the chandelier of course - it all looks great together.

Beautiful job! I love doing table skirts like these because all I really need is the staple gun and staples. Love the fabric and the band and buttons you added.

That would almost make me want to do laundry! Thank goodness that's my husband's job. But the space is very bright, organized and cheerful, and the child is positively edible.

Good luck in the car. You're like Joan of Arc brave.

Well, that's just plain adorable! You used some great fabric there, and the little green tabs add just the right amount of "pow"!

This turned out lovely! I am in the process of making a couple of skirts for various pieces. This is so simple I must use it in the craft room. Perhaps the project will actually get done if it's easier than lugging out the sewing machine. :)

really cute skirt - can you tell me how you attached it to the top. I have a desk I would like to do something similar to but not sure how to put it together?
Thanks!

Katie said...

Well the technique I used will not be helpful in what you are wanting to do. After making the legs I put 1x4 going across attaching to the legs. I attached the fabric to those pieces of wood and then I put the counter top on top. Sorry. Maybe if some how you can attach the fabric to a piece of wood that is small and then attached the wood under the desk.Good Luck!
